Early this morning, July 30, 2011, a woman died after losing control of her car, rolling it, and crashing through a fence before she hit a building on State Route 94. As reported by CBS 8 San Diego, California Highway Patrol state the 27-year-old had been driving alone, and heading east around 3:20 a.m. before she crashed her Ford Explorer.

CHP Brian Pennings said the speed the woman had been driving is not known at the time she lost control of her car. The car went down an embankment and then went onto eastbound State Route 94's offramp at Bancroft. The victim's vehicle then entered an intersection before tearing through a chain link fence and crashing into a building. The woman was trapped in her SUV, which had rolled over, landing on its roof.

Though the victim was wearing her seatbelt, her injuries were fatal. She died at the scene, according to Pennings. He also stated that drugs and alcohol did not seem to be involved as a cause of the crash. An investigation is continuing.
