Cleaning Tips for Calphalon Cookware
- Calphalon cookware requires proper cleaning to maintain the life of the cookware by preserving the specialized coating on the surface. While not as easy as just throwing it into the dishwasher, cleaning your Calphalon is straightforward and not time consuming. Calphalon offers a variety of products, so always make sure you use the correct cleaning procedure for your pan. Before every cleaning process, let the pan cool down, as submerging it in hot or cold water can cause permanent warping.
- Nonstick surfaces require very little or no added oils at all, making the surface smooth and easy to clean. After frying or sautéing, use a soft-bristle brush to remove any food stuck to the pan, then use a sponge or soft-bristle brush to wash the inside and outside with warm, soapy water. Abrasive cleaners and cleaning pads, baking soda and dishwasher detergent are not recommended.
- Wash pan in warm, soapy water with a sponge or soft-bristle brush. Once clean, Calphalon recommends using their Calphalon Dormond to restore the surface back to an even, matte finish. Dormond is a cleaner specifically used to clean anodized materials.
Never wash hard-anodized pans in the dishwasher. Harmful dishwasher detergent can ruin the surface of your pan and negate your lifetime warranty. - Just like nonstick and hard-anodized pans, you can also clean stainless steel using a sponge or soft-bristle brush in warm, soapy water. Always make sure the scrub your pan gently, as using an abrasive sponge pad will damage the surface of the pan. Calphalon recommends using their Calphalon Radiance cleaner periodically to restore the surface of the pan. Dry the pan completely before storing.
