How to Fix a Bissell Proheat Cleaner
- 1). Turn off the machine and unplug it to prevent electric shock.
- 2). Check all of the machine's connections, hoses and tanks to ensure they are seated properly. If they are not the machine won't work properly. Push all of the hoses into their sockets to ensure the tab locks have snapped into place. Lower the water tank-in-tank lid to ensure that it is locked into place. Push on the SmartMix bottle on the right side of the foot of the machine to ensure that it is securely attached to the machine.
- 3). Plug in and turn on the machine to see if it is working properly. If it is not, turn the machine off and unplug it again.
- 4). Step on the handle release to lower the ProHeat handle. The release bar is located next to the left wheel on the back of the machine.
- 5). Remove the tank-in-tank by lifting the handle to unlock it from the machine. Carry the tank-in-tank to the sink.
- 6). Remove the lid by lifting up the handle to unlock the lid and taking the lid off.
- 7). Refill the tank with hot tap water through the open spout. Fill up to the fill line on the side of the machine.
- 8). Replace the lid and lock it into place by pulling up the handle.
- 9). Unscrew the flow indicator cap to check for clogs. The flow indicator cap is on the top right side of the foot of the machine. It has an "X" on it.
