How to Mix Oil Paints With Linseed Oil
- 1). Set out the small bowl in which to mix your paint and oil. Fill the container with the solvent you are using, and put the lid on it.
- 2). Squeeze a nickel-sized amount of your paint in the bottom of the bowl.
- 3). Pour a teaspoon of linseed oil into the bowl for a nickel-sized amount of paint, and mix it well with the spoon. If you are using more than a nickel-sized amount of paint, you may need to add more oil, depending on the kind of consistency you want. For a thinner consistency, add more oil.
- 4). Pour in a few drops of your solvent to get an even thinner consistency or to make the paint look transparent.
