    Hook up a laptop to the power supply

    • 1). Locate the adapter outlet on your laptop. It is likely on the side or the back of the computer.

    • 2). Insert one end of the power cord into the adapter outlet on your laptop. If the power cord comes in two pieces, connect the two pieces to each other.

    • 3). Plug the other end of the power cord into the wall. You have now hooked up a laptop to the power supply.

    Hook up a laptop to the Internet

    • 1). Click the "Start" button on your desktop and select "Connect To."

    • 2). Click on one of the networks that appear in the list of available networks. The networks with the most green bars are the networks that have the strongest signals. The networks that have a "lock" icon next to them require a password for you to connect to them.

    • 3). Click "Connect." You now have hooked up your laptop to a wireless Internet network. If you clicked on a network with a "lock" icon, enter the password and select "Connect."

    Hook up a laptop to a Bluetooth device

    • 1). Plug the Bluetooth adapter into a USB port in your computer.

    • 2). Press the "On" button to turn on the Bluetooth device.

    • 3). Click the "Start" button on your computer and select "Control Panel."

    • 4). Click "Hardware and Sound" and select "Bluetooth Devices."

    • 5). Click "Add" and follow the instructions. You now have hooked up a laptop to a Bluetooth device.
