    • 1). Shut down your computer completely. It is unsafe to work inside your computer while it is powered on. Doing so could result in hardware failure, injury or death.

    • 2). Remove your Bestec's power cable. Remove any peripherals currently attached to your system, including monitor, keyboard and mouse.

    • 3). Unscrew the side panel of your computer case. If your computer case uses a window or latch panel access, use this instead.

    • 4). Unscrew the power supply from the back of the case. You should only need to remove the four retaining screws. Pull the power supply carefully out of the case, leaving the power connectors attached for now.

    • 5). Blow canned air into the power supply. Once the power supply is clean, check the power supply and the cables for any physical damage. If the power supply has burn marks or physical damage, it needs to be replaced immediately.

    • 6). Put the power supply back into your system. Check the connectors one by one, pulling the connector out and reinserting it into the computer component. Spray canned air as needed to clear out any dust. The cable reseating should fix any issues regarding a connection problem. If the power supply still does not work properly or fails to boot the computer, you probably need to swap it for a new supply.
