- 1). Scrape away loose mold and debris with a medium bristle brush. Be sure to do this outside or over a trash can to avoid mold spores getting into the air in your home.
- 2). Squeeze lemon juice all over the stained area to saturate it.
- 3). Sprinkle table salt all over the dampened area to cover it.
- 4). Scrub the salt into the canvas with a clean cloth or sponge.
- 5). Allow the canvas to sit outside in the sunshine for two or three hours. Sunshine is great for killing of mold spores and odors.
- 6). Brush the salt away and look it over; repeat the process if necessary.
