How to Display Chinese in Windows Media Player

    • 1). Click the "Start" menu button and choose "Control Panel." Double-click the "Regional and Language Options" icon.

    • 2). Click on the "Languages" tab. Check the "Install files for East Asian languages" box, and then click "OK" in the box displaying the message about needing additional disk space. Click the "OK" button in the "Regional and Language Options" window.

    • 3). Insert the Windows installation disk into your computer's optical disk drive when prompted. Double-click the "Regional and Language Options" icon to open the window again.

    • 4). Click the "Advanced" tab. Choose "Chinese (PRC)" from the "Language for non-Unicode programs" drop-down menu. Click the "OK" button.

    • 5). Restart your computer, and allow the operating system to load completely. Launch the Windows Media Player program, and open a Chinese song to see the Chinese characters in the song title.
