Avoid Holiday Bloating - Strategy Number 1 - Never Go to a Party Hungry

It would be a mistake to go to a party with a ravenously hungry attitude.
Not only will you eat everything in sight, but you will slight your friends and make a poor social impression.
It is important to eat a little something that is healthy and wholesome before leaving home or the office.
A piece of fruit or vegetable, like an organic carrot or apple, will do the trick.
Another healthy choice would be to eat a small handful of raw nuts or a piece of whole grain toast.
Since it takes the stomach about 20 minutes to communicate with the brain the fact that it is no longer starving, it is a good idea to eat this snack at least 20 minutes before going to the party.
Can you imagine how much damage you can do in 20 minutes? How much food can you eat without stopping in 20 minutes? It is also important to take the edge off of your appetite before going into a social situation.
This gives you a sense of control since you never really know what you will be getting into - that is part of the fun of a party.
Still many people have noticed that they have trouble digesting certain foods.
Some even have diagnosed food allergies.
This sense of control will give you the feeling of being able to pick and choose more carefully what you will be eating at the party and make healthy choices.
Your digestive system will thank you.
After all, parties are about enjoying and meeting new people.
It is easier and more fun to meet new people when you are relaxed and no longer have that ravenously hungry feeling.
