    • 1). Install the video capture card in your computer according to the manufacturer's instructions. You must ensure that your video capture card has both composite video and audio inputs to capture both the video and sound from your video game console.

    • 2). Plug the audio/video cable into the back of your video game console, then plug the composite end into the composite audio/video splitter.

    • 3). Plug both of the extra composite audio/video cables into the splitter's outputs. Plug the first audio/video composite cable into your television. Plug the second audio/video cable into your computer's video capture card.

    • 4). Start up the video capture software that came with your video capture card, and at the same time, turn on your TV and video game console.

    • 5). Select the composite cable inputs as the audio/video source for your video capture software once the video game console is on. At this point, you will see the video game on both your television and in the video capture software window. Select "Record" when you are ready to start saving gameplay footage to your computer or take individual screen captures.
