SEO"s Missing (Inbound) Link

103 76
Business owners are starting to realize the marketing power that ranking high in the search engines can offer them.
However, most of them are missing a crucial element in high search rankings; inbound links.
Keyword optimization is only about 25% of SEO.
The other 75% is inbound links.
Unfortunately, most business owners neglect any link building campaign.
Good Inbound Links Some of the easiest links to get are links from comments on blogs and forums.
All you have to do is find a blog or forum in your business niche, read posts, and make comments.
One word about comments though.
Make sure they add value to the blog or forum.
Don't spam blogs and forums with useless information.
Give the owner some good content in exchange for the link.
Better Inbound Links Even better than getting links from comments is getting your site listed on blog lists or links lists.
Getting on one of these inbound links is almost like having a blog or website owner contacting Google directly and suggesting your site as one of the quality sites on the internet.
All you have to do is contact the blog owner and ask if they would include your site on their blog list.
Give them some reason why your site would be of interest to their readers and you'll often get a link.
Great Inbound Links If you can get inbound links from the body of a blog post, that's even better.
There are several ways you can do this.
You might simply ask the blog owner to mention your site in one of their upcoming posts.
Maybe you have an article on your site that then could mention.
Maybe you have a product they could review.
Another great way to get links from the body of a blog is to do some guest posting.
Blog owners are very busy trying to keep their blog active, but even blog owners like to take a vacation once in a while.
If you offer to guest post, those blog owners can have the best of both worlds, and the only thing it costs them is a byline with a link back to your site.
Best Inbound Links Get a mention in a high quality news site and the search engines really sit up and take notice.
Search engines figure if your site makes the news, it must be good.
So, these are among the best inbound links to get.
Another great link building tactic is creating a widget or a badge.
These are helpful little bits of code that people can place on their site for free.
The powerful thing about widgets and badges is you can get your keywords in the code.
That way the links will have your keywords in them, which catches the search engines' attention when they're serving up results with your targeted keywords.
