Galion 303 Road Grader Information
- The Galion 303 is an industrial grade road grader that has a large levelling device attached to a tractor-like vehicle. The unit was manufactured by Galion between 1949 and 1968. The Galion division, which produced the 330 road grader, was incorporated by Komatsu, a Japanese heavy equipment manufacturer in 1995.
- Graders manufactured by Galion were made in typical road grader designs of their time. They featured frames with box-sections, two rear axles and a chain-powered drive. The models had grading blades ranging from 9 to 14 feet.
- Galion Iron Works was formed in 1907 in the town of Galion, Ohio. Until 1911 it functioned as a foundry to manufacture many different types of metal castings. At that time it began making construction equipment. The initial graders were of the horse-drawn variety.
