"Turbo FAST
Turbo FASTÂ follows speedy snail Turbo, and his Fast Action Stunt Team (FAST), as they race around new tracks and speed through new challenges.
The Turbo FAST cartoon on Netflix is based on Turbo, the original DreamWorks Animation movie that was released in 2013, starring Ryan Reynolds, Paul Giamatti and Samuel L. Jackson. Turbo grossed over $83 million, so it's no surprise that DreamWorks began looking for a way to turn their movie into a TV cartoon.
Turbo FAST was the first original Netflix cartoon for kids.
Turbo, the movie, is about a young snail who had dreams of winning races. Thanks to a turbo-fueled accident, he gets his wish and becomes the leader of a group of daredevil snails. The snails live in a Los Angeles microcosm called Starlight City, complete with a customized racetrack to practice their moves. The FAST travels far and wide to take on villains from all over the world.
The second season of Turbo FAST premiered July 31, 2015 with thirteen episodes. The new season sees the super-charged snails going shell to shell in challenges like eating hot peppers, playing soccer on a foosball table and flying off ski jumps. The new episodes of Season 2 each have two segments, so it's like watching a collection of animated shorts.

Turbo FASTÂ is a slick cartoon. The wild plots and hilarious character traits are terribly creative. The action and dialogue are both fast-paced. The bright Crayon colors, offset with geometric shadows, give the 2D-animated cartoon a sharp look.
My favorite bit about Turbo FAST is how the snails' eye stalks have so many functions, from holding drinks, to picking up cards, to giving high-fives. Well, high-eyes.
Turbo FAST is definitely aimed at very young audiences. Anyone in the ten-and-older crowd might get bored by the snails' antics, and probably won't be terribly invested in what's going to happen. (Although they'll love all the fart and belch jokes.) The pace moves too fast to get too attached to any characters. But that's what the cartoon is meant to do. Turbo FAST keeps moving, one stunt after another, to keep the fidgety set happy.

Turbo, the leader, can out-speed anyone on the straight, but obstacles are a bit more problematic. Now the reigning Starlight City hero, Turbo is forced to take on a motley crew of challengers eager to take him down. Convinced that he and his team will always come out winners, he’s up for any challenge. Although this often gets him in trouble, Turbo’s heart is always in the right place. (Voiced by Reid Scott, Veep)
Chet is Turbo’s brother and his complete opposite, at least as far as taking risks is concerned. Chet is now part of the racing team but he never loses his worrying and cautious spirit. He is the team’s business manager and voice of reason but the odds are he will be ignored most of the time. (Voiced by Eric Bauza, Belly Bag from Uncle Grandpa)
Whiplash is street smart and the all-around baddest snail on the block. He cares more about the art of racing than being a winner. He’s fearless and a good improviser. A strong believer in honor and loyalty, Whiplash is the team’s mentor and voice of experience. (Voiced by John Eric Bentley, Nick Fury from Avengers Confidential: Black Widow and Punisher)
Smoove Move always keeps his cool. A super laid-back dude, he’s not as fast as some of his fellow snails but he has a much smoother ride. His special sound system shell allows him to be one with the track by playing tailored soundtracks to any situation he’s in. (Voiced by Phil LaMarr, Baxter Stockman from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)
Skidmark might by reckless, hyper and overly-caffeinated, but he's also brilliant and inventive. He’s the team mechanic and is always experimenting with new enhancements, whether they work or not is another story. (Voiced by Amir Talai, Crane from Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness)
Burn is a feisty, hot-blooded adrenaline junkie. Her sarcastic wit and extremely short fuse give her the guts to take on the greatest challenges. She is passionate about everything (especially Chet). (Voiced by Grey Griffin, Azula from Avatar: The Last Airbender)
White Shadow may be big and clumsy, and maybe gullible, but he has a pure soul and an unwavering love for his teammates. Although he’s not too bright, he’s strong, up for anything and always has his team’s back (or shell). (Voiced by Mike Bell, who was also White Shadow in the original movie Turbo)
Tito is the owner of Dos Bros Tacos and the FAST's link to the world beyond Starlight City. While he can’t actually communicate with them, his special bond with Turbo allows him to sometimes sense what he wants or needs. (Also voiced by Amir Talai)
Kim-Ly is a little lady who packs a powerful punch. She tells it like it is whether she’s talking to man, woman or snail. Always selling something, Kim-Ly has recently expanded her empire from a nail salon to a home shopping channel. (Voiced by Ken Jeong, who was also Kim-Ly in the original movie Turbo)
