Truman Burbank (Jim Carrey) is the star of his own reality television show in the movie The Truman Show. What makes Truman's reality show so interesting is that he has no idea that he is part of it. Truman lives in a beautiful domed studio in California and everything that surrounds him is completely scripted. Every day viewers tune in to see what will happen in Truman's life as they have since Truman's birth, which started the show. Truman is now an adult and has started finding clues in his travels that lead him to speculate about the authenticity of his surroundings. As Truman beings to discuss life outside of his beautiful city, the actors around him including his wife, Meryl Burbank (Laura Linney), do everything they can to convince him that there is nothing to see out there. Truman's curiosity and passion to explore get the better of him and he demands his freedom. Truman finally discovers what is truly important which is portrayed beautifully in the final scene of the film.
