How to Insert Page Number & Name at the Bottom of a Word 2007 Document

    • 1). Click "Start," then "Programs."

    • 2). Scroll to "Microsoft Office" and click it once to open the folder, then click "Microsoft Office Word 2007." This will open a new document. You can double-click an existing Word document to open it in Microsoft Word as well.

    • 3). Click the "Insert" tab at the top of the Microsoft Word window.

    • 4). Click "Page Number" in the "Header & Footer" section.

    • 5). Click "Bottom of Page," then click the image that represents where at the bottom of the page you want the page number inserted. Scrolling through the list of page number styles will offer many options for page number formatting.

    • 6). Double-click the page number to edit the "Footer" section of your document.

    • 7). Type your name as you would like it to appear at the bottom of each page of your Word document. Be sure to include any required spacing between your name and the page number.
