      Learn to Ollie. In order to perform a kickflip, you will need to be able to alloy. The Ollie separates your skateboard from the ground which is necessary when doing a kickflip.

    • 2). Practice your recovery. The toughest part to kickflipping isn't making the board flip, but it's landing back on it. Most novice skateboarders practice flipping the board and it ends up flying a foot away from them. Maybe they can get one foot on it if they are lucky.

      Jump off of your skateboard, kick out and down and land back on your board. Now at this point you want the board to remain stationary. You are just going through the motions.

    • 3). Now incorporate this motion into a normal Ollie. Concentrate on being able to land with two feet on top of your board. Once you get that down the flipping rotation can be adjusted later. When your first learning to kickflip, sometimes it helps just putting a tiny part of your toe on the edge of the deck and pushing down after you Ollie instead of kicking out. This will keep the board under your feet until your reflexes and motion get better later.
