Do Eczema Homeopathic Remedies Work?

Before discussing whether or not eczema homeopathic remedies work, it may be helpful to provide a short definition of homeopathy. Simply stated, since exposure to a substance can cause specific symptoms in a healthy person, that substance, when correctly prepared as a homeopathic remedy, can stimulate the body's curative powers to overcome similar symptoms during illness.

This substance then has to undergo "potentization" which is a process that involves a series of precise dilutions and succussions (vigorous shaking). A substance has to undergo this process to be useful as a homeopathic remedy. This is very important, because the repeated process of dilution brings about an energetic change that gives the substance a deeper curative effect. Repeated dilution also removes chance of chemical toxicity, allowing the homeopathic use of many substances that would otherwise not be safe to take as medicine.

For the best chance at success using homeopathic remedies, you should probably consult with a homeopathy practitioner. This is not to say that self-treatment by purchasing over-the-counter homeopathics won't work, but it is necessary to fit a specific homeopathic to a specific symptom for best results, and this is what a homeopathy practitioner is trained to do.

It's not simply a matter of picking out a homeopathic for "eczema." That is much too broad a definition. Instead, you must specifically identify your symptoms. For example, if you have eczema on your chest, is it dry, does it occur when you are stressed, does it occur in hot weather, in humid weather, does it itch or is it simply "there"? So if you choose a homeopathic for treating leg eczema brought on by summer heat and your eczema is on the chest and is worse in dry, cold winter weather, your chances of successfully alleviating your condition are limited.

Once you have matched a homeopathic to your specific symptoms, how you take it is important. Generally you should take one dose and wait for a response. If you note improvement, continue to wait and let the remedy work. If improvement slows or has stopped, take another dose. The frequency of dosage varies with your condition. Sometimes you may have to take a dose several times an hour, or maybe several times a day, or even once a day or less. If you don't see any response in a reasonable amount of time, it may be necessary to choose a different homeopathic. This is where the expertise of a homeopathic practitioner is very helpful.

Yes, eczema homeopathic remedies do work. However, it's not a shotgun approach as is often the case with pharmaceuticals. If you identify the symptoms specifically and then apply the correct homeopathic, you should enjoy moderation or even cessation of your eczema symptoms.
