By comparison, the highest average salary of the 10 states was Georgia with $319,548 per year. The bottom two states of the 10 surveyed were Illinois and Pennsylvania, with $217,863 and $252,885, respectively. The other six states surveyed, in order from lowest to highest, were Texas with $254,264; North Carolina with $254,350; Arizona with $281,444; Tennessee with $282,630; Colorado with $284,874; and Ohio with $290,017.
- According to Salary Wizard, the average salary for a dermatologist in Miami, Florida was $242,204 as of May 2011. The middle 50 percent of Miami dermatologists earned between $220,081 and $272,232. The bottom 10 percent earned a salary of $199,939 or less. The top 10 percent of Miami dermatologists earned $299,571 or more. In Orlando, Florida, a city with a slightly lower cost of living, dermatologists earned an average of $230,468 per year. The middle 50 percent of Orlando dermatologists earned between $209,417 and $259,041. The bottom 10 percent of Orlando dermatologists earned below $190,251, while the top 10 percent earned more than $285,055.

The middle 50 percent of Tallahassee dermatologists earned between $204,879 and $253,428. The bottom 10 percent of Tallahassee dermatologists earned below $186,129 while the top 10 percent earned a salary above $278,879.
