    Color Scheme

    • The color of Paddington bears are rich, primary colors like blue, red and yellow. However, these colors alone may be too bright for a baby's room and for your taste, which is important since you'll spend a lot of time in this room as well. To incorporate the Paddington colors into the nursery, go with a brown palette as your primary colors instead of the primaries. Browns and beiges will match the bear's fur, and you can use red, blue and yellow to accent the room. For example, paint the walls a light beige, and lay down a brown carpet on the floor. Buy Paddington-themed bedding and curtains. Add colorful accents like little yellow, red and blue pillows to your baby's bed. Put down a yellow throw rug on the floor. Paint the dresser knobs in primary colors.

    Paddington Stuffed Bear Collection

    • Paddington bear has been around for quite sometime, and numerous versions of this raincoat-wearing bear exist. Use this to set the tone for your decorative theme. Get a large bookshelf, and paint it with stencil patterns using red, yellow and blue paint. If you can find Paddington stencils, use those. If not, stencil your baby's name, rain boots and other Paddington imagery on it. Start a collection of Paddington bears, and look for every size and incarnation of the bear possible. Fill the bottom, larger shelves with the taller bears. Place miniature bears in front of those and at eye level so they won't be lost.

    Wall Options

    • Over the years, Paddington has not been just limited to storybooks and stuffed bears; quite a few Paddington accessories exist on the market. Decorate the walls of the nursery with a Paddington bear plate collection. You may have to scout around at flea markets, online auction sites and at antique stores. Likely you'll find new ones on the market as well. Find plate hangers, and hang them in an interesting formation on the wall of the baby's nursery. You can hang them above the crib, but be aware that, as she gets older, she can probably reach the lower ones as she stands up in her crib.

    Decoupage

    • Decoupage crafts allow you to use craft glue to glue images onto furniture and accessories. The technique puts a glossy finish onto the item being done, and you can use many kinds of pictures to create your decoupaged furniture, including Paddington. Start by gathering some Paddington books. You may want to go to a sale at the public library or a secondhand store and buy books that are a bit beaten up so that you won't feel guilty about cutting them up. Cut out the images of the bear that you like, ensuring that you have enough to cover the furniture you want to cover in the room. These pieces could include the dresser, the rocker or the changing table. This technique allows you to create Paddington furnishings specifically for the nursery.
