How to Tell If Your Cell Phone Has Water Damage
- 1). Check the metal parts on the outside of the phone for rust or discoloration. Look inside the microphone or charging jack, and at the gaps between the keys.
- 2). Remove the battery door and battery. Check the metal parts of the battery and the battery compartment for more signs of corrosion.
- 3). Look for the liquid damage indicator. This is a small sticker inside the battery compartment. It is white before it has been exposed to water. When it comes in contact with moisture, its color changes to pink. Some stickers may have Xs or the word "VOID" appear instead.
