So you're a network marketing veteran, right? You've worked hard, and have had some success.
Your team is starting to really take off now, and all of a sudden you find yourself becoming the person that new team members look to for guidance.
I know that this can be an uncomfortable, if not scary, spot to be in for the budding jedi in training.
I know I didn't quite know how to make the jump from newbie to the guy with the answers, so I had to counsel with my upline leaders.
To expedite the process, here are three leadership principles for network marketing.
Ok, the first one may seem to be pretty obvious, but I know I've been guilty of it myself.
If you find yourself calling members of your team and asking them about their daily prospect call activity, you have slipped into management mode! Quick news flash here..
..
people hate this! If they wanted another boss, they would have gotten another job.
They are thinking outside the box and working a direct sales opportunity because they want to get away from the one they already have.
Be there to guide and support them through their business ups and downs.
Secondly, I would encourage you to create an atmosphere of success with your team.
People are attracted to winners.
It is your responsibility to your team to develop the positive mood.
I mean, come on, who wants to be around negative folks anyway, right? Your team is with you for a reason! They joined you because you projected some sort of winning attitude.
Keep up the excitement and inspiration.
Encourage them to read books about success and leadership.
As long as everyone knows from the beginning that this is the atmosphere that is in place and expected, then as new members come on board it will just be the existing culture within your organization.
The final leadership principle we will discuss today is kind of the end all - be all of leading people in business.
Wait for it...
LEAD BY EXAMPLE! Do the things you ask your team to do in order to succeed.
The more they see you do, the more they will follow you.
Be the positive change you seek in your business.
Express gratitude daily, and practice servanthood leadership.
If your associates see you blazing the trail for them to follow, the fellow trailblazers will jump on your band wagon and follow suit.
