Integrated Video Card

• The eMachines T6212 uses an ATI Radeon Xpress 200 chipset with a built-in graphics chip on the motherboard. This integrated video card uses the computer's main processor and memory. According to eMachines, it consumes 128MB of system memory. This integrated card ships with all eMachines T6212 computers and thus is fully compatible, but consider upgrading your graphics card if you want better performance in games and other graphics-intensive applications.
  
  

PCI Express Graphics Cards

• The eMachines T6212 motherboard has a PCI Express x16 slot for connecting a new graphics card. Most graphics card on the market support the PCI Express standard, including all mid-range and performance models. Install a PCI Express card if you want the fastest speeds possible. Some high-end cards may require more electricity than the power supply in the eMachines T6212 can deliver. EMachines doesn't publish specifications for its power supplies, but budget computers such as the T6212 typically don't contain high-wattage power supplies.

• The eMachines T6212 also has two PCI slots into which you can install a low-end video card. This is a viable option if you want to free up the processor and memory the integrated video chip consumes but don't play games or use GPU-powered applications. • You can also connect an external graphics card using one of the several USB 2.0 ports on the eMachines computer. External cards aren't very powerful, but you can use them to output to a second or third display. Consider an external card if you don't feel comfortable installing a card inside your computer.
