How to Launch Recovery on My Dell Inspiron 1501
- 1). Plug the AC power adapter into the input on the far left side of the Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop's back edge.
- 2). Restart or turn on the Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop.
- 3). Press the "F11" and "Ctrl" keys at the same time when "www.dell.com" appears inside of a blue bar across the top of the screen during the boot process. The laptop boots up to the Dell PC Restore by Symantec screen.
- 1). Plug the AC power adapter into the input on the far left side of the Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop's back edge.
- 2). Close any programs or files that are open on the laptop.
- 3). Insert the Operating System disc that came with the laptop into the optical drive and restart the laptop.
- 4). Press the "F12" key when the Dell logo appears on the screen during the boot process. The "Advanced Boot Options" menu appears.
- 5). Highlight "CD-ROM" using the arrow keys on the keyboard and press "Enter." The laptop will continue booting up to the "Windows XP Setup" screen.
