How to Thread a Singer 9416 Sewing Machine

1). Turn off power to the machine.
2). Turn the hand wheel toward you, lifting the needle up to its highest position.
3). Raise the presser foot.
4). Raise the spool pin and set the spool on it.
5). Lock the spool holder firmly in place by sliding it over the spool's rim. This prevents the thread from tangling.
6). Pass the thread through the lower slot on the thread guide's underside.
7). Lead thread through the upper slot, moving it over the slot and to the right. Pull the thread into the thread guide.
8). Feed the thread through the second thread guide. Do this by feeding it from the left and over the top, moving it to the right and under the guide.
9). Thread down and around the tension mechanism. While holding the spool loosely in your right hand, use your other hand to pull the thread up. Slip it in the tension discs.

Thread the eye of the take-up lever.

Pull out 6 to 8 inches of thread.

Pull thread through the guide visible above the needle.

Pull thread through the needle from front to back.
