But to fully understand how to get rid of your cellulite you should really grasp what cellulite really is and what causes it.
What is cellulite? Cellulite is fat.
The only thing that sets cellulite apart from plain old fat is its dimpled appearance on the skin.
This appearance occurs due to weak connective tissue.
Your connective tissue is comprised of intertwined web-like fibers.
When this fiber is weak fat can push between the fibers and appear on the surface of your skin.
These fibers act as a wall that defends against fat.
If you strengthen these fibers fat cannot push through and therefore cellulite will not appear.
As you know cellulite is a skin condition, but it is now apparent that treating the skin by using creams, massages, or any other procedure is not how to treat cellulite.
To get rid of it we must take an inside out approach.
The first thing you will want to do is strengthen your connective tissue to prevent any more cellulite from appearing.
To do this you need to strength train.
This does not mean you have to go to the gym everyday and grunt like a muscle-head.
All that is needed is a light to moderate workout regime which includes exercises that strengthen your problem areas.
You should workout 3 to 4 times a week.
To target your thighs, buttocks, and the back of your legs all at once you could do squats.
Lunges are another great exercise that works these areas.
If you have cellulite on your stomach you can do bicycle crunches, sit ups, or use a crunch machine.
All of these exercises are only suggested in order to spark your imagination and it is your only limitation.
You will also want to prevent additional fat developing in your body because if you are not gaining any more fat then there is nothing there to produce the cellulite effect.
So how do you stop gaining fat, and even lose fat? Any diet comes down to this law: If you burn more calories than you take in, then you will lose fat and weight.
So perform an aerobic activity such as walking, swimming, biking, or aerobics to ensure you are burning more calories than you are eating.
Cardiovascular activity also helps increase circulation which will deter against the buildup of fat appearing as cellulite.
The last ingredient in the formula of how to treat cellulite is your caloric intake, aka eating healthy.
There are foods that increase the likelihood of cellulite so you should stay away from caffeine, alcohol, and any processed foods.
Eating whole foods and organic foods are not only good for cellulite reduction, but will also benefit your overall health.
You should drink a lot of water as it is your body's natural cleanser and it will wash away the toxins in the areas where you have cellulite.
