- 1). Look at the front and sides of the keyboard of your laptop computer for a slot labeled "SD."
- 2). Look at the front of the tower of your desktop computer for a slot labeled "SD."
- 3). Click "Start," right-click "Computer" and click "Manage." Click "Device Manager" in the left pane of the Computer Management window. Look for a device labeled "SD host adapter." If you see this device, your computer has a built-in SD card reader.
