Feeling discouraged is a depressing obscenity, Where anger and confusion reign without sense, A place where our spirits have annulled serenity, And our energy's lack is every bit immense.
How do we rise out of such a wicked depression? What do we do to restore our hope? Perhaps it's as easy as giving our confession, Over to God in order to cope.
Confession abides in honesty, and is especially powerful in the presence of someone we trust.
As we share our spiritual nonchalance, God heals us by encouragement we hardly expected.
Perspective grows.
Hope is renewed.
We feel lighter.
Tears may flow; we let them.
We feel lighter again.
And with this lightness of gait, we step out into the world again in courage.
On the most poisoned and dis-satisfactory of days, We would be forgiven for entering a malaise, Every hour wasted, every expectation amiss, All of life seems bound for a worsening abyss.
How do we rise above sheer disappointment, When we feel we have missed every good appointment? Best we start again, hoping for a chance, To wake up tomorrow where our souls do dance.
None of us likes to waste our time, not deep down.
It's just as bad when we miss our opportunities.
And disappointment is doubled when our expectations aren't met.
The key in not giving up is taking solace in the freshness of a new day; another chance to rise out of a previous day's despair.
Hope's never easy in the wilderness time, But in that season God will refine.
Time's coming when we will say, Finally, finally, Now's the Day! Dreams are heaven-sent into the laps of us who are human.
We hold on and cannot let go.
Sometimes the dream gradually fades and we wonder about the voice of God who put that dream there in the first place.
Let's not be discouraged: if not this dream, God's got something better in mind.
In the meantime, we hope and pray and we do not give up.
The key in busyness is to separate out choices, To sacrifice the many little fractious, tormenting voices, And make of the moment one solemn held deed, And ensuring all the while we have the commitment to lead.
Being one with God is being one with ourselves, As we take on, with courage, anything that repels, We harness the moment and commit to the act, And take that first step and don't look back.
Busyness is a thing that dominates most of our lives.
What is God trying to teach us? Could it be discernment? To discern the path, a simple direction forward, is Power.
We are blessed when we make a choice and simply commit.
Decisiveness has blessing about it.
