I'm going to assume you already know how to play guitar, otherwise, you may want to skip this article! Teaching guitar lessons in your spare time can be a profitable and fun experience.
You probably didn't think it was fun when your teacher made you learn all your major, minor, and dominant chords.
I won't even mention the repetitious scales and modes spent played in time with the click of a metronome.
In all serious though, you might have the perfect network of potential students already around you.
Before you do start this process, make sure you are competent in your ability as a teacher.
The guy that might have to retrain your students will have a very frustrating time.
Offer your guitar lessons by sending out an email to your friends, family members, and coworkers.
They probably already know about your technical prowess and might be quick to recommend you to someone.
Social networking sights are a fertile ground as well.
The amount of people that navigate across your page on a daily basis might be impressive.
Try hanging up fliers at grocery stores and retail establishments.
Many of these places have a community area for notes of all kind, everything from guitar lessons to firewood for sale.
Once you have your flier in place, sit back and wait for the calls to come in.
Determine how much to charge and whether to schedule half hour or hour long guitar lessons.
Thirty minute lessons are usually best for attention span purposes.
Good luck!
