How to Tilt a Drill Press Table
- 1). Unplug the drill press power cord from the electrical outlet.
- 2). Locate the table bevel lock and set screw. The bevel lock is the larger bolt head on the side of the bevel that surrounds the drill press column. There will also be an Allen set screw directly below the bevel lock. Some tables will have a small alignment pin under the bevel lock instead of a set screw.
- 3). Turn the outer nut clockwise to release the alignment pin with a wrench, if your drill press does not have a set screw. Failure to release the alignment pin could result in the table separating from the drill press column and falling. The alignment pin should only be in place when the table is at a 90-degree angle.
- 4). Loosen the bevel lock with a wrench. Loosen the set screw with an Allen wrench if your drill press has the set screw.
- 5). Tilt the table to the necessary angle and tighten the bevel lock with the wrench. If you have a set screw, tighten the set screw with the Allen wrench.
