With their second CD Stone Sour proves they are much more than a Slipknot side project. The band has progressed a lot since their debut. The songs on Come What(ever) May are very diverse and allow the band to show many different sides of their musical personality.

Frontman Corey Taylor draws a lot of attention, which he should being the lead singer. He does an excellent job transitioning between melodic singing and aggressive yelling.

He shows a nice range of emotions and textures. But it's the guitarists who really shine on this CD. Jim Root and Josh Rand are able to weave intricate dual solos along with great riffs and tones.

This a very melodic and accessible album. There are some definite metal moments, but also a lot of hard rock and even mainstream rock songs. It has a little something for everyone.
