Turquoise & Red Bedroom Decorating
- Beds are usually the focal point in a bedroom, so consider your colors wisely. Choose turquoise for your comforter or duvet on your bed. Use red on smaller bedding pieces such as pillows. Another option is a print, such as a floral pattern, for a bedspread that has both turquoise and red with turquoise as the main color.
- Although red and turquoise can go well together, if you want to tone done the overall look, consider adding a third color to the bedroom. Colors that coordinate with both turquoise and red are white, gold and light brown. Adding white to red and turquoise appears more feminine whereas adding brown, especially a darker brown to the two colors, gives more of a masculine appearance.
- When you want a punch of color in a bedroom that has turquoise walls or turquoise bedding, add red curtains to the room. Alternatively, add turquoise curtains to a bedroom that has a red bedspread. Another option is to mix and match the colors so that one window has red curtains and another window has turquoise curtains.
- Choose accessories that are either red or turquoise or feature both colors such as a red and turquoise painted framed mirror. Other accessory options include lampshades, area rugs, pictures and silk flowers in vases. Consider hand painting a piece of furniture such as a chest of drawers turquoise and adding red accents to it.
