How to Make a Hand from Latex Caulk

    • 1). Dust the inside of a rubber glove with baby powder. This will serve as a release agent for the latex. Sprinkle the powder inside the glove and shake it around. Turn the glove over a trash can to dump the excess powder out.

    • 2). Apply duct tape around the opening edge of the glove, at the wrist. This will help thicken the edge so it can hang from clothespins.

    • 3). Fill the glove by squeezing a tube of latex caulk into the glove. Use your hand to slide the caulk downward to fill the fingers of the glove. Continue adding the latex until the caulk reaches approximately two inches below the wrist edge of the glove.

    • 4). Hang the glove from a plastic clothes hanger with the fingers pointing downward. Secure the glove with at least three clothespins so that it does not drop off the hanger. If necessary, pin both sides of the glove. This may pinch the wrist of the hand slightly.

    • 5). Let the caulk cure for two days inside the glove mold.

    • 6). Roll the glove off the dry, fake hand. If necessary, use scissors to cut the rubber off.
