- 1). Navigate to the Borders website on your web browser. Click on "Store Locator" at the top of the screen. Input your city and state or zip code to obtain the address of the Borders store nearest you.
- 2). Go to the Borders store during business hours. If you do not have a specific book in mind, browse for a book that appeals to you. Borders stores generally sort their book selection into genres: Fiction, Mysteries and Thrillers, Romance, Kids, Reference and Self-Help. There will be signs at the store directing customers to the sections of the store devoted to specific genres. If there is a specific book genre that you would like to read, go to the section of the store devoted to that genre and browse the selection. If there is a specific book that you would like to purchase, go to the genre into which that book falls. The books will be organized in the genre alphabetically by the author's last name. For example, if you are looking for a romance book written by John Smith, you should go to the Romance books section of Borders and look for books written by those with last names that begin with the letter "S."
- 3). Ask a Borders sales associate for assistance if you have trouble locating a specific book. If you provide the associate with the title of the book that you want, she will be able to tell you if it is currently in stock and show you where it is located in the store. After selecting the book you may take it to the cash register to complete a purchase.
If the book that you want is not in stock, the sales associate may be able to order a copy for you that you can pick up in the future.
