Let's say you have to choose one exercise that you will do everyday.
What will that exercise be? For me that is easy.
The Deadlift.
The Deadlift must be one of the most effective exercises that man has created.
It is very simple, but exercises most parts of the body.
So what parts of the body does the Deadlift focus on? The body parts are the gluteus, hamstrings, lower back, spine, trapezius, abdominals, lats and calves.
That is a long list.
So its basically a full body workout.
The obvious benefit of the Deadlift is strength.
But lets look at other benefits.
(1) It will give you a cardio workout and make you breathe heavy.
It is not an easy exercise.
(2) It will help with stability control.
So you will work muscles that are normally not exercised with mainstream exercises.
(3) It is a practical exercise and is a movement that you will use in daily life.
Lifting stuff is common in real life.
(4) The spine will benefit from doing the exercise correctly and will improve your posture.
This is a very ancient exercise with great benefits.
It is also great to do.
Its fun and a good test of strength.
You should make sure you have correct form when doing this exercise.
Like any exercise it will lead to injury if not done correctly.
Ask you local trainer for advice on doing it correctly.
Some people don't like the Deadlift.
I love it and recommend it to anybody who wants to see big improvements in their strength and fitness.
Maybe it is something ancient in our systems as men but when I do the exercise I feel powerful.
Its just something in the way the movement is performed.
