    Install Dropbox on Your Computer

    • 1). Visit Dropbox.com and click the large blue "Download Dropbox" button in the middle of the page.

    • 2). Click "Save File" and save the Dropbox installation file to your hard drive.

    • 3). Open the downloaded Dropbox installation file and follow the onscreen instructions to install the software onto the computer. You will create a username and password during this process.

    Back Up Your Blog

    • 1). Log into your blog's administrative dashboard. In Blogger, visit Blogger.com while logged into your Google account and click the name of your blog. In WordPress, you can usually log in at "yoursite.com/wp-admin."

    • 2). Export the contents of the blog onto your hard drive. Each blog platform has a slightly different means of exporting or backing up the blog. In Blogger, click the "Settings" tab, click the "Basic" sub-tab underneath it, then click the "Export Your Blog" link and follow the onscreen instructions to download your blog. In WordPress, click the "Export" link from the "Tools" widget in the admin dashboard and follow the onscreen directions to download the blog's contents.

    • 3). Launch Dropbox on the computer, either from the Start menu or by double-clicking the Dropbox icon on the right of the taskbar.

    • 4). Locate the downloaded blog backup file on the hard drive in the Dropbox window.

    • 5). Click on the file in the right pane of the Dropbox dialog window. While holding the mouse button down, drag the file to the Dropbox folder on the left pane, then release the mouse button. This moves the backup to Dropbox.
