    • 1). Switch to the Bluetooth application by tapping on it in your home menu screen, or by tapping on the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar. This icon will appear blue when Bluetooth is turned on, and gray when it is turned off.

    • 2). Turn Bluetooth on or off by tapping those buttons in the primary Bluetooth application screen. Turning off Bluetooth when it is not in use will extend your Centro's battery life.

    • 3). Connect your Centro to a new Bluetooth headset by tapping the "Hands-free Setup" button, and following the onscreen instructions. Set your headset preferences by switching to the "Prefs" application from your Centro's home menu screen; select "Hands-free" and check "Always route calls to handsfree" to automatically have your calls transferred via Bluetooth. Otherwise, you will be prompted when a call comes in.

    • 4). Set up your Centro for wireless syncing with your desktop or laptop computer by tapping "Hotsync Setup" and following the onscreen instructions. Note that your computer must already have Palm Hotsync or third-party software installed, and must have Bluetooth connectivity. Bluetooth Hotsync is much slower than syncing over a wired connection or a Palm cradle, but it is convenient for syncing small amounts of data frequently.

    • 5). Pair your Centro with a generic Bluetooth device by tapping on "Trusted Devices." Place the other device into "discoverable" or "pairing" mode according to its manual. The device will appear in your Centro's menu of available devices. Tap the device, and enter the other device's passcode into the Centro. (The passcode will be randomly generated on its screen, or will be set by the manufacturer and written in the manual.)
