How to Decorate a Boy's Birthday Cake
- 1). Pour the cake batter into either the 9" x 13" or shaped cake pan. Bake according to package directions.
- 2). Combine one can of white icing with several drops of food coloring to achieve the base color for the cake. This will be the color you will frost the entire base of the cake. See tip.
- 3). Decide on the type of decorations you will put on the cake. Ask the boy what he likes to do, and what his favorite movies and television shows or characters are.
- 4). Make a car cake by crushing chocolate cookies and make a track on the top of the cake. Put toy cars on top of the track. (See reference page 2)
- 5). Make a cartoon cake by adding cake toppers or kids meal toys on top of the cake that depict the character. See resource.
- 6). Decorate other types of cake by altering the cake topper pieces. See resource.
- 7). Place the remaining can of icing in a pastry bag and use it to write "Happy Birthday" on the cake. You can also use it to add icing decorative touches, if desired.
