How to Get Rid of Termites in a Dresser
- 1). Spray liquid termiticides around, in and on the dresser. Termites will be repelled or killed when they come into contact with the liquid termite treatment.
- 2). Fumigate your dresser. This should be done by a professional. Gases such as sulfuryl fluoride or methyl bromide will be used.
- 3). Place the dresser in a heated area. Make sure the temperature is around 150 degrees Fahrenheit. Leave the dresser in the area for about 90 minutes. There are special kilns made for this purpose.
- 4). Place the dresser outside for four days. This method works well if you live in an area with extreme temperatures. The temperature needs to be around 15 degrees Fahrenheit. There also are special cooling agents available for the purpose of freezing the termites.
