    • 1). Find the PVC pipes that fit your canister housing. There should be two ports on the lid of the filter housing; purchase short PVC fittings that will fit into the ports and can be easily rigged into whatever apparatus you desire. Place the fitting into the housing and seal them if needed.

    • 2). Fit the filter element into the underside of the canister's lid. The element should screw in or snap in just as if replacing the element on a standard filter.

    • 3). Attach the lid to the housing. The filter element should hang down into the housing without hitting the bottom.

    • 4). Attach the filter to a pump. How you choose to configure this filter is up to you--it can be rigged as a hang-on, inline, independently, or any other way you can think of.
