How to Remove a Username From Windows XP Login Screen

    • 1). To remove a login name from the Windows XP start-up screen, turn on the PC. Once the computer has fired up, select your own login name.

    • 2). When you're on your start-up page, right click on the Start menu.

    • 3). When the menu expands, right click on Control Panel.

      Open the Control Panel, click on User Accounts. Here you are given the option of selecting an account to change. Right click on the account you wish to delete.

    • 5). After right clicking on the account you wish to delete, choose "Delete the account" from the next options menu. At this point you are given the choice to also delete all of the user's files or to keep the files. Select the option you'd like and then confirm your deletion.
