How to Take Care of Smelly Kitchen Sinks
- 1). Remove all items left in the sink, including the sink plug.
- 2). Pour 1 cup of dry baking soda down the sink's drain. Use your hands or a brush to sweep any leftover baking soda down the drain.
- 3). Pour 1 cup white vinegar down the drain. Place the sink drain's stopper or cover over the drain. Otherwise the combination of vinegar and baking soda rises out of the sink. Leave the drain covered no longer than 15 minutes.
- 4). Turn the sink's hot water on to medium-to-high flow. Leave the water running for about 30 seconds.
- 5). Fill the spray bottle with approximately 2 cups of white vinegar. Spray the inside of the sink, concentrating on any areas that are especially smelly.
- 6). Leave the vinegar on the sink's surface for 15 to 30 minutes.
- 7). Wipe the sink with a wet cloth or towel to clean the inside of the sink. Flush the sink with hot water from the faucet.
