- 1). Check the cloth. Ensure that your cotton cloth is dry and free of dirt. This will prevent scratches to the screen and stop moisture from seeping into the crack during cleaning.
- 2). Turn off your monitor.
- 3). Turn off your computer.
- 4). Remove the smudge. Using very little pressure, wipe the smudge with your cloth. Be especially careful if the smudge is on or near the crack. The spot is now clean.
