How to Keep a Propane Porcelain Stove Top Clean
- 1). Mix several drops of liquid dish soap in a sink full of warm water.
- 2). Lift the burners from the stove top, and place them into the sink of soapy water. Allow them to soak while you clean the stove top.
- 3). Dip a nylon scrubber into the soapy water, and gently scrub the stove top until it is clean.
- 4). Wipe the soapy residue from the stove top with a wet cleaning cloth. Identify any areas that need additional attention.
- 5). Mix 2 tsp. baking soda and 1 qt. warm water in a bucket. Liberally wet any tough stains with this mixture, and leave it for 10 minutes. However, do not allow the stove's igniters to become immersed in this solution.
- 6). Scrub the soaked area with the nylon scrubber, taking care not to scratch the porcelain.
- 7). Wipe the stove top down again with a clean, wet cloth. Dry it with a dry cloth.
- 8). Scrub any cooked-on residue from the burners with the nylon scrubber. Rinse the burners thoroughly, and allow them to air-dry.
- 9). Replace the burners on the propane porcelain stove top.

Clean up any future spills immediately when they happen, using a damp cloth. If you must wait until the stove top cools enough not to burn yourself, still clean the spill before it cools completely. Cold, dried-on spills are more difficult to clean than slightly warm, fresh spills.
