Slow down your eating.
You may be surprised to learn that by eating quickly you are getting more calories than you need.
If you slow down, and take longer to consume each meal, your brain has a chance to get the message that your hunger has been satisfied.
In this way you will not only be eating less you will be taking a major step toward being successful with your weight loss.
There are a few simple methods that can help to slow down the eating process.
Chew your food for longer, this not only slows down food consumption, it will help with digestion and you will feel satisfied sooner.
Take one fork or spoonful at a time and do not take another till you have swallowed what is in your mouth.
The easiest way to do this is by not picking up more food till the last mouthful is gone.
Once you start eating slower you may get to enjoy your food more as you take time to savour it.
It takes a while for the stomach to send the message to your brain "Stop eating I am full" so stop eating when you feel comfortable and have had enough.
This way when the brain gets the full message you have not already overeaten.
So remember it is best to have smaller portions of food and take a lot longer to eat it.
In this way you are doing two things to help yourself stay slim.
Eating smaller amounts and taking longer to eat those smaller amounts.
It may also help, visually, if you get into the habit of using smaller plates and bowls.
A smaller plate full will be more appeasing than a larger plate looking half empty.
