- 1). Finish the main storyline of the game. This occurs after the defeat of the Elite Four.
- 2). Capture a Ditto. In Pokemon FireRed, Ditto can be captured along Routes 13, 14, 15, the Pokemon Mansion and Cerulean Cave.
- 3). Travel to Four Island. You can reach the island by taking a ferry from Cinnabar and then speaking with Celio at the Pokemon Center on One Island.
- 4). Speak with the old man at the Pokemon Daycare on the island. Give him your Ditto and the Pokemon you wish to clone. Remember, Ditto can be matched with any non-legendary Pokemon in the game, including the male starter Pokemon you received.
- 5). Walk around the Daycare for 256 steps and then return. Speak to the old man. He will offer you an egg. If you are not offered an egg, walk 256 additional steps and speak to the old man again.
- 6). Accept the egg and leave the Daycare. Walk around Four Island until the egg hatches. The hatched Pokemon will match your non-Ditto Pokemon parent.
- 7). Remove your parent Pokemon from the Daycare and place Ditto in with another Pokemon. Repeat the breeding process for another duplicate.
