Coping with panic attacks is tough especially when they occur frequently and you are always wondering when the next one is going happen.
Take the following small steps and you will learn how to rely on yourself for dealing with an anxiety attack.
  • The first and probably most important is to understand that your body needs to rest and relax in order to recuperate.
    So begin by making a list of activities that you find relaxing or restful.
    Include anything you want such as going for a walk, having a nice soak in a hot bubbly bath, sitting quietly in a cosy corner reading a book, gazing out of the window and watching the clouds pass by and spending a few minutes doing a few stretching exercises or laughing with the kids.
  • The next step is to make a list of things that you know make you feel better and this will be different for everyone.
    My list includes; drinking a glass of water, eating a healthy meal and swapping a cup of coffee for a cup of peppermint tea.
  • Try and get to bed a little earlier so that you can get more sleep and include several of these restful fun activities every day without fail.
    You will be amazed at how different you will feel.
  • Finally, make an action plan for coping with your anxiety attacks.
    So that no matter what situation you find yourself in you are mentally prepared.
    Make plans for different ways of taking small relaxing breaks.
    These might be a simple as visiting the bathroom or going outside to walk around the garden.
There are many other positive steps that you can take to help you cope with anxiety attacks.
