How to Burn a DVD Using a Memorex External DVD Burner

    • 1). Insert the CD that came with your Memorex external DVD burner into the CD-ROM drive. Follow the on-screen prompts to successfully install Nero and the other software programs included on the disc.

    • 2). Plug one end of the included USB cable into your Memorex external DVD burner; plug the other end of the cable into an available USB port on your computer. Wait for a few moments for the "Your device was successfully installed" message to appear on the bottom right of the screen.

    • 3). Insert a blank DVD into your external DVD burner. Click "Start > Programs > Nero > Nero Burner" to launch the Nero disc-burning program. Click either "Make Data DVD" or "Make Your Own DVD-Video," depending on the type of DVD you'd like to make.

    • 4). Click the "Add" button to select files to add to your DVD disc. Navigate to the location of the files you want to burn on the DVD and click "Select" for each file. Click the "Close" button to close the window and return to the Nero Express Essentials screen.

    • 5). Click the "Next" button to continue with burning the DVD. Click the drop-down menu next to "Current Recorder" and select the "Memorex DVD recorder."

    • 6). Click the "Burn" button to begin burning the DVD. This process may take as much as an hour to complete. Don't unplug the external burner during the process. Once a box appears stating that the disc burn has been successfully completed, you may remove the DVD and use it.
