- 1). Install the DVD recorder as directed in the product's documentation.Typically this will involve connecting a scart lead or HDMI cable to your TV for the output signal, stereo RCA cables to your audio receiver or amplifer, and a television RF input signal from your aerial or satellite receiver.
- 2). Tune your DVD recorder if required. Some recorders will connect directly to a satellite or cable receiver and will not require manual tuning. If you plug into an analog signal then you will need to tune the standard channels.
- 3). Insert a blank DVD into your DVD recorder.
- 4). Switch to the channel you wish to create a DVD from and press "Record" on your remote control. Once you are done, press "Stop." This will create your DVD for you. Some DVD recorders will require you to finalize a disc first; consult the manual if you are unsure of how to do this.
