How to Troubleshoot and Download Media Center on Windows
- 1). Close out other Internet programs when attempting to download Windows Media Center. Some programs are going to take over the Internet connection, either causing the Windows software to not download at all or to download extremely slow.
- 2). Open the anti-virus program you have on the computer and cancel the autoscan feature (usually found in the "Options" tab). This feature sometimes prevents files from downloading to the computer. Once you have obtained the program, make sure to reactivate the feature again.
- 3). Delete unused files and programs from the computer, if you are receiving an error message stating there is not enough room on the hard drive. Deleting the excess files will create enough room for your new Windows Media Center.
- 4). Avoid pausing the download, if at all possible. Pausing can cause problems with downloading the program. If this occurs, you must download the program again.
