Shredded Paper

• You probably have an abundance of unwanted paper that is set for the trash or recycling bin. Old newspapers, magazines, junk mail and leftover wrapping paper can all be shredded and used as grass for your Easter basket. If you have a paper shredder, you can slice through several pages at a time. Alternatively, stack several sheets of paper, and cut them into thin strips. Gently crunch the strips of paper to create instant volume.
  
  

Natural Grass

• You can grow your very own Easter grass right in the basket. It takes approximately one week to grow grass, so make sure you have time to spare. Poke drainage holes in a piece of aluminum foil, and fit it inside a wicker basket. Fill the basket ¾ of the way with soil, and pack tightly. Spread a layer of wheatberries across the top. Cover the remaining ¼ of the basket with soil. Place the basket on a tray to catch leakage from the bottom, and place it in a sunny spot indoors, such as a windowsill. Water the basket daily to keep the soil moist. By the time Easter arrives, your basket will be full of lush grass to hold all of those treats and trinkets.
  
  

T-Shirt

• A new T-shirt works perfectly as artificial grass for an Easter basket, and it also counts as a gift. Simply tuck the tags inside of the T-shirt. Fold the shirt and arrange it in the basket, fluffing here and there. Place all the goodies on top.
  
  

Leafy Greens

• Look no farther than the kitchen refrigerator for an all-natural stuffing for your Easter basket. Large leaves of lettuce or cabbage make the perfect padding for an Easter basket. Line the bottom and sides of the basket with the leaves, allowing the frilly edges to peek over the rim. Fill the basket to complete.
